Fashion in the Era of Remote Work

“Fashion is intrinsically linked to consumer and societal attitudes, it gives us a true reflection of how we live our lives,” says Francesca Muston, VP of Fashion at the trend forecasting firm WGSN. WGSN is the global authority on consumer and design trends. WGSN | Create Tomorrow | Trend Forecasting & Analytics

The work landscape is constantly changing, with an increasing number of people turning to remote work, leading to a substantial shift in the concept of work attire. The time of mandatory stiff suits and uncomfortable shoes is over. Now, in the remote work era, the emphasis is on finding the right mix of comfort and fashion. This article will offer you a selection of the finest outfit ideas for remote work, ensuring that you remain comfortably chic whether you're in your home office or a snug nook.

In the world of remote work, comfort reigns supreme without forgoing style. Choose attire made from breathable materials such as cotton, linen, or soft knits. These fabrics ensure comfort all day long, preventing any undue discomfort during extended periods of sitting.

One challenge of remote work is the unexpected video call. It's helpful to keep a go-to outfit or a set of items close by that can swiftly upgrade your casual home attire to a more professional look. A structured blouse or a chic cardigan can be layered over a casual outfit, instantly enhancing your appearance.

Spring Has Sprung!!! Summer on the Way

The spring season is officially here. Thank goodness!! I cannot take another freaking second of cold weather. This means it's time to put away your snow boots, puffer coat, and all the lipsticks and lip glosses you wore on repeat during the winter months. Seriously—I'm a huge advocate of switching up your go-to lip color with the changing seasons. Lipstick is an easy way to refresh your look without having to do something dramatic, like chopping off all your hair.

Melon orange, coral, peach, fuchsia, of course red, umber, natural pink and about 7 other different colors for this season explode onto the scene for all to wear and enjoy, that make-up artist are raving about.

Glamour...100 Years of Fashion

It is unmistakable that fashion is here to stay. No matter what the color, style or mood. I have always loved the feel of dressing up and or down in style. No matter your socio-economics, fashion makes everyone feel some way or another...strong, happy, cool, chic, it doesn't matter. So, it is fitting that 100 Years of Fashion is celebrated. Enjoy the show!!!

Good Reads: Book by Cally Blackman

Cally Blackman’s book featuring a series of fashion with over 400 photographs and illustrations, many published for the first time, tell the stylish story of a fashion revolution. Also, the 100 Years of Fashion documents in pictures the most exciting and diverse period in fashion, from 1900 to today, covering streetwear, uniforms, high society, sportswear and couture.

As women’s lives changed exponentially during and after World War I and World War II, female dresses were altered to unrecognizability---from the birth of teenagers to mass manufacturing, high society and celebrities, that gave way to looser styles and shorter lengths.

So Cally’ book will appeal to everyone and anyone interested in fashion. Students will enjoy this book as well. "100 Years of Fashion"

BE SAFE. Fashion Should Never Go By the Wayside

Even in a time of a global pandemic, coronavirus, fashion in any form still makes us feel some sort of way. Whether it's happy, sad, funny, cuckoo, sexy.

I love fashion, and I think it is something that defines ones personality. Even during this coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic, I still feel like dressing up. I went to the post office, grocery store, Target, doctor's office, dentist, and I wore these colorful outfits. My outfits included a white multi-colored dress, over a pair of light color jeans, with 4" striped blue open back heels; colorful slacks, turtleneck, black high heel boots, head wrap, blue jean short sleeve coat, dark blue jean coat.

Pandemic or no pandemic. Fashion is a statement.

Real People...Real Fashion....In the Public Square

Going out into the community watching real people...real fashion can be exciting, or a total let down. Most of the time we see people who didn't even get out of their pajamas or brush their hair. People have gone completely lazy on presenting themselves in a way that lets the onlooker know that they care about what they wear and what they present to the outside world. Many just don't care at all.

Then there are those who dress for success at every moment. They wouldn’t leave the house without some sort of fashion statement, even when they’re just popping out to the grocer or gas station.

Take Paris, France for example. According to the Paris Insider, “French women (and men)” generally shop for quality over quantity. That’s why for instance, you’ll see a lot of cashmere in Paris. Cashmere is soft, comfortable and always looks great. A cashmere sweater is a fashion essential in any season in Paris.”
